The Evolution MS Access to VB.NET Converter
The user interface of the Evolution Access Converter makes conversion very simple. First, select the MS Access MDB, ACCDB or ADP file that contains the forms and modules that you wish to convert. Select the appropriate Forms and Modules in the List boxes, as below and click ‘Begin Conversion’.
The two bars at the right hand side of the form indicate the progress through each item, and the total conversion progress. After all items have been converted, you will find the .vb source files in the directory indicated by ‘Save in:’. These can then be added into a new VB.NET project for compilation.
Along with the converted source files, you will also find a module called ModCompatibility.vb. This file contains many of the functions you will require for conversion of Access Code.
The Evolution Access converter should greatly reduce the amount of time required to convert MS Access Forms and code modules into VB.NET equivalents. The Evolution Access Converter is suited to conversion of Bound and Unbound MS Access forms. Continuous Forms are simulated through the use of VB.NET datagrids, Navigation buttons are added where appropriate and Data Sources are inserted into the VB.NET source files.
